The Government says it takes note of the result of the Referendum in Scotland as a “true reflection of the will of the Scottish people” and describes it as a “tribute to the democratic traditions” of the United Kingdom that the people of Scotland were able to exercise their right to self- determination and freely to choose their future political status.
The Chief Minister indulged in “undignified gloating” following the announcement yesterday that the Chief Justice had dismissed claims against the Government made by the former GSD minister Louis Montiel. This is according to a letter from Mr Montiel, which was sent to the press earlier this morning. The case in question concerned his re-instatement as an employee of the Gibraltar Development Corporation.
The GHA has announced that, after months of discussions and negotiations between itself, Unite the Union and the Government, it has finally reached a “positive solution” to the ongoing issue affecting a small number of contract workers in the GHA.
The Gibraltar Chronicle is conducting a political opinion poll which has been distributed to addresses across Gibraltar. The survey comes hot on the heels of the GSLP-Liberal administration’s celebration of 1,000 days in office and the Chief Minster’s comment there were around 500 days left before the next general election. It is the first opinion poll conducted by the local daily since the GSLP-Libs won the election in December 2011.
