Oct 16 - Care Agency Day Centre Celebrates Annual Verbena

The Care Agency once again this year organised another very successful verbena at the Calpe Rowing Club for the elderly people who attend the Waterport Terraces Day Centre which opened its doors in December 2013.

The centre operates as an active meeting place, providing stimulation, social interaction and activities such as cookery, art and crafts and bingo, The centre provides individual care to all within a loving environment.

The evening of entertainment at the verbena was once again provided by the Latin Trio group who played a repertoire of well-known songs. They always prove to be popular with the service users as they provide a great atmosphere.

Samantha Sacramento, Minister for Social Services, took the opportunity to express her heartfelt thanks to the untiring staff of the Day Centre, volunteers and drivers for the wonderful service that they provide the elderly throughout the year and also to the Latin Trio the Calpe Rowing Club and St John Ambulance who can always be trusted to lend a hand at this annual occasion.
