The UK Overseas Territories Student Conference “Our islands, Our future, Sustainable Development” is being held at University College London on Sunday 29th November.
This free, multidisciplinary event is aimed at establishing and developing connections between students from the Overseas Territories who are based in the UK. The conference agenda is to evaluate issues surrounding sustainable development, helping students to gain experiences, learn new ideas and make contacts that will be valuable for their future careers.
The comprehensive programme includes morning plenary lecturers from leading academics, case studies from across the UK Overseas Territories and presentations from student speakers. Students are also invited to register to present posters and artwork at the conference.

Minister for Education, Gilbert Licudi, said: “I am pleased to hear from the conference organisers that a student from Gibraltar has already registered their attendance. This is the first conference of its kind and will offer an invaluable learning and networking opportunity to students from a wide range of disciplines such as the environmental and biological sciences, engineering, law, humanities and arts.”
