Jan 04 - University Of Gibraltar Evening Seminar To Examine How Graduates Can Keep Pace With The 21st Century

The University of Gibraltar will this month host a talk by Professor Geoff Scott from Western Sydney University, as part of an international seminar series.

Higher education students graduate into a volatile and rapidly changing world. Professor Scott will lead a seminar exploring how higher education institutions can equip and support graduates to keep pace with the rapidly changing needs of the 21st century. It reports on the outcomes of an international project that has involved some 2,600 learning and teaching leaders from around the world.

The intention of the project and the guide is to ensure that higher education providers can optimise the quality and calibre of graduates across a range of professions and disciplines and maximise their potential both in the workplace and through the course of their careers.

Professor Scott is Emeritus Professor of Higher Education and Sustainability at Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia. He was Pro Vice- Chancellor (Quality) and has been co- chair of the Sustainable Futures Leadership Academy helping to establish RCE-Greater Western Sydney.

He has recently completed an international project on Turnaround Leadership for Sustainability in Higher Education with Daniella Tilbury, Leith Sharp and Liz Deane and a project with Kerri-Lee Krause and senior colleagues from 11 Australian universities on inter-university moderation and the assurance of higher education standards. In 2008 he led the Australian Learning and Teaching Council study of Learning Leaders in Times of Change in partnership with ACER.

The seminar takes place on Monday 18th January (6.00pm – 7.30pm) at the Europa Point Campus, University of Gibraltar. Places are limited.
