Jan 22 - Chinese Delegation Keen To Make Gibraltar A Model “Green City”
The Government this week welcomed a delegation from China that is eager to make Gibraltar a model "Green City" for Europe and the world.
The visiting team from Good Resources Holding Ltd, a public Hong Kong company, are specialists in advanced LED lighting technologies. The engineers are part of a larger Chinese consortium, led by Go Scale Capital, that source and develop the best clean technologies in the world and scale them in key markets.
From bringing best-in-class lighting technologies, to the most advanced and economical electric vehicles, the group intends to help make Gibraltar a showcase for the world on ambitious and successful energy efforts. In addition to bringing new investment to the Rock, the group will is setting up a Gibraltar company to also export these technologies throughout Europe.
The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, said: “Gibraltar strives to be a leader in clean energy efforts, and our partnership with our Chinese investors will help showcase to the world that we can and must use all means possible to do the right thing for our people and our planet.”
