Mar 07 - Winners Announced For Gibraltar International Dance Festival
Dancer Cora Ramirez, 21, from Transitions Dance Academy in Gibraltar took this year’s award for the most promising dancer at the 14th Gibraltar International Dance Festival.
Out of the 51 soloists that participated at the festival, six were selected by international adjudicator, Deborah Norris to perform in the grand final. Bursary finalists included dancers from Gibraltar and Spain as follows:
Lauren Montero, Julieanne Rodriguez, Anna Jimenez; Iker Rodriguez Gracia; Janis Jackson and Cora Ramirez;
The festival, organised by M.O. Productions, was held from Thursday 3rd to Saturday 5th March 2016 at the John Mackintosh Hall Theatre and saw 172 dancers from Gibraltar, England and Spain taking part.

M.O. Productions Best Choreographer Genyka Celecia for her Junior Group called ‘7 Sisters’
Director of M.O. Productions Seamus Byrne said: “We are happy with the support that we have received from the local dance schools as well as from the international performers who participated at our event.
“We are very pleased with the high standard and quality of dance that has been maintained throughout the three days of the festival.
“We are delighted to have been able to offer a platform and educational experience for our young people and we aim to continue organising this wonderful event for many more years to come.
“We look forward to our 15th Anniversary edition in 2017.”
