Jun 16 - Models Trainers Take On Safeguarding Children Course

Two friends, who run a local models training agency, took on a Safeguarding Children course to help better understand the safety of their students.

Kelvin Hewitt and Karess Zammitt, of No1 Models and K & K School of Models, undertook the Tier 1 course at Bleak House last Wednesday.

The pair were trained by youth worker Rebecca Figueras and social worker Elena Songui.

Kelvin and Karess said: “We decided to take up this course after working with children.

“We felt we needed a better understanding of the safety of our students or any children we may come across in our role.

“This course has given us a better knowledge of protecting children from maltreatment, preventing impairment of children’s health and development, ensuring that children grow up in circumstances in which care is safe and effective and enabling children to have optimum life chances and to enter adulthood successfully.

“We believe after having completed the training that it is important for anyone who works with children to take on this course for the future and well-being of their students.”
