Jun 01 – Royal Gun Salute Tomorrow To Mark Queen’s Coronation Anniversary

The Royal Gibraltar Regiment will fire a 21 Royal Gun Salute on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen’s Coronation at midday tomorrow from Grand Battery House.

The Gun Salute will be fired by Headquarter Company (Thomson’s Battery). The Inspecting Officer will be the former Commanding Officer and newly appointed Honorary Colonel of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Francis Brancato OBE JP.

Colonel Brancato was in command of the Regiment during the time that it received the Royal prefix from Her Majesty the Queen during the Regiment’s 60th anniversary on 28 April 1999. As the new Honorary Colonel, Colonel Brancato will now assist the Command Officer and the Regiment on both civic and military matters.
