Jul 24 – Latest RG Recruit Completes Training

Private Callum Prades is the latest Royal Gibraltar Regiment (RG) recruit to pass out at the Infantry Training Centre in Catterick. Pte Prades (18) passed out on Friday 21st July after completing the Combat Infantryman’s Course.

The Combat Infantryman's Course takes place over 26 weeks. Line Infantry builds up recruits’ skills and fitness bit by bit. In rough order, this involves learning individual skills first, followed by team/section skills and then platoon skills, ending with an assessment.

During training, recruits are taught the importance of discipline, integrity, loyalty and respect for others. They learn that being a soldier is about putting others first and having the courage to do the right thing in any given situation.

Pte Prades said: “I joined the Army because I wanted to do something different and challenging and wanted to be in the Infantry. Catterick has been challenging and at the same time very rewarding, as I have learnt really good skills which I will need for when I join my Battalion back in Gibraltar.”
