Dec 20 - Mayor To Receive Bethlehem Light Of Peace

On Thursday 21st December at 6:00 pm at the City Hall, Her Worship the Mayor, Kaiane Aldorino Lopez GMH, will receive the Bethlehem Light of Peace on behalf of the people of Gibraltar.

The Light will be presented by the Scouts’ Association (Gibraltar Branch) as has now become tradition, following its collection, this year from the Movimiento Scouts Catolicos, Delegacion de Puerto Real.

Scouts and Guides will then take the Light on to the Cathedral of St Mary the Crowned and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, as well as to Number 6 Convent Place and the Convent.

The aim of the campaign is to include as many people as possible and to take to them the light and peace message, which encourages everyone, but especially Scouts and Guides, to actively create peace in their environment by being tolerant towards people of different ethnic, cultural, political or religious groups.

Her Worship the Mayor would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a blessed Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
