Dec 20 - Gibraltarian Director Brings Home Award From Natural Sparkle Pageantry Awards
A local pageant director was awarded the Best Regional Director of The Year at the Natural Sparkle Pageantry Awards held in the UK.
Kelvin Hewitt, Director of No1 Models in Gibraltar, travelled to Blackpool at the weekend after being nominated for the award, with more than 600 well-known names in the pageantry world nominated for various awards.
He was recognised for the work he has done with pageants over the past seven years and the money he’s been able to raise for charity during that time.
Kelvin told YGTV: “I was already happy being at the awards ceremony and to be the first Gibraltarian nominated for an award, I never thought I had a chance to win.
“My name was announced as the Best Regional Director of the Year, and I was so surprised.”
Since winning the award, new opportunities have come Kelvin’s way, including travelling to the UK in February to give full training to UK models who will be competing in various pageants.
He has also been selected to do the full choreography and training for the international pageant Miss International Elite 2018 which will be held in Gibraltar.
Kelvin added: “This is a great achievement for myself and a great opportunity for Gibraltar.
“This means the contestants’ families and friends will be staying in Gibraltar and I feel so honoured being able to put Gibraltar on the pageantry map and bring more people to our beautiful hometown of Gibraltar.”
