Jan 23 - Fire And Rescue Service Completes Ambulance Service Transfer To GHA

The Gibraltar Fire and Rescue Service has transferred a third ambulance to the Gibraltar Health Authority this morning. Following the recruitment of new Ambulance Care Assistants, the service is now entirely run by the GHA.

Minister Licudi, who is responsible for the Fire and Rescue Service, said he was glad that he was able to deliver on the promise to transfer this service back to the GHA after 18 years.

The Minister for Health, Neil Costa, said that it made sense for all ambulance work to managed by healthcare professionals.

“I want to stress how impressed and proud we all are of our new Ambulance Care Assistants - they really are a credit to the new profession into which they enter,” he said.
