Jun 07 - Upper Rock Sites Extended Hours

07 June 2018

As part of the continuing programme of improvement to the Upper Rock and other sites of interest, and to encourage the use of these sites, the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Climate Change has announced that both the World War II Tunnels at Hay’s Level and O’Hara’s Battery (including the interpretation centre), will as from this Saturday 9th June be opening seven days a week between 0930hrs and 1915hrs (last entry at 1815hrs and 1845hrs respectively).

This change will harmonize the opening and closing hours of all sites within the Gibraltar Nature Reserve. Furthermore, it allows more time to visit Gibraltar’s attractions.

Due to increased demand, customers are asked to pre-book the World War II Tunnels timeslots in advance in order to avoid disappointment.

Advance bookings can be made and confirmed by email at [email protected] from Monday to Friday, during office hours (0800 to 1530hrs). It will, alternatively, be possible to just show up on any given day and join the next available tour, as long as numbers fall within those required by health and safety guidelines.

No bookings will be necessary to visit O’ Hara’s Battery. Any visitor in possession of a Walker’s Ticket or a full Nature Reserve Ticket will be able to visit O’Hara’s Battery. There is of course free entry for local residents in possession of an ID card.

World War II tunnels can only be visited by persons in possession of a WWII tunnels ticket (this ticket will also include all other attractions within the Gibraltar Nature Reserve).
