Feb 21 - Local Gymnastics Group Selected For GB Rhythmic Espoir Performance Programme 2019

The Gibraltar Gymnastics Assoaction has announced the Rhythmic gymnastics Espoir group has been selected for the Great Britain’s Rhythmic Espoir Performance Programme 2019.

A spokesperson said: "Lili Murphy, Nyah Galia, Thea Cawthorn, Lauren Garcia and Chanel Trinidad have been working hard for achievement with the training starting last year.

"The group came 3rd overall in the British Championships and with more hard work during the summer they prepared a new routine for this season as well as preparing for the British Qualification Testing (BQT).

"This exam is a 3-part exam, including a full ballet exam - not just judging them individually but as a group of 5 they also must be synchronised - a flexibility test and conditioning test. Also considered was the personal coach for the group and the club.

"The group is 1 of 5 groups selected from all the groups in Great Britain and will be training in Lileshall National Sports Centre, with the National coach Maria Gateva and Suzanne Haslam, five times this year.

"The content of work these girls will be learning will help them improve and be better gymnasts and coaches for Gibraltar.

"We wish the gymnasts and coaches all the best of luck."
