Mar 26 - Unite's Young Members’ Committee To Hold Social Event This Thursday

Unite the Union’s young members’ committee says it is holding a social event for people aged 27 years or under, on Thursday the 28th of March.

The event starts at 18:30 in Unite the Union, 43-45 Town Range (Transport House).

Non-members are also welcome to attend.

Attendees will have a chance to voice their views and aspirations for young people and workers in Gibraltar, in a relaxed environment.

They will also have the opportunity to highlight where they think the union should be focussing its campaign work.

Drinks and snacks will be provided.

A spokesperson said: "You will have the opportunity to meet other young people who are passionate about the future, as well as Unite Officers who can offer real practical support. Why not find out what we have achieved as a group and about our plans and goals.

"For example:

- Tackling and challenging the misuse of agency workers and insecure work.

- Unite’s vision of apprenticeships and training in Gibraltar.

- The committee’s aims, commitments and how it all works.

"It is of great importance that young people and workers in Gibraltar have a clear voice in Unite and one that enables those issues important to younger workers to have a platform.

"Whether you have an interest in being involved with Gibraltar’s largest Trade Union or simply in supporting the union’s campaigns and work, come along to meet us. Most importantly, this is a chance for you to be involved in making a positive change for the future and for generations to come. It promises to be a fun and informative event, we are really looking forward to meeting you."
