Jun 03 - Chestertons, Sovereign Insurance And Little Bay Raise £8,000 For Charity

Chestertons, Sovereign Insurance Services and Little Bay have raised over £8,000 for two local charities having hosted two nights for clients courtesy of the Little Bay Indian Restaurant in Ocean Village last week.

The charities receiving donations were Calpe House Trust and the Methodist Church Gibraltar and La Linea work for the needy.

Chestertons and Sovereign staff waited on attendees of the event.

Kelly Whelan, general manager of Little Bay said: "It was lovely to see so many people have so much fun. The chefs and our bar staff worked so hard those evenings, and I have definitely talent spotted some potential new waiters and waitresses from the staff at Chestertons and Sovereign Insurance who gave it their all."

Neil Entwistle, managing director of Sovereign Insurance said: "We were all exhausted and just amazed at the generosity of many of our clients contributing to the two great causes.  Our staff really enjoyed doing something different too, judging by the feedback we have received."

Albert Poggio was there to say a few words to the dinner guests on behalf of the Calpe Trust whilst Kelly Whelan thanked guests on behalf of the Gibraltar Methodist Church Appeal.

Mike Nicholls, CEO of Chestertons said: "What a great community spirit from everyone, our staff, Sovereign Insurance's staff, the restaurant's staff, our guests, our hosts and representatives from the two charities.  We loved every minute of it and £8,000 over two nights demonstrates the very best of Gibraltar's kindness to others."
