Traffic Management Arrangements – Armed Forces Day Parade

The Royal Gibraltar Police will be implementing a number of parking restrictions, road closures and diversions as part of the wider policing and security operation for this year’s Armed Forces Day Parade, scheduled to take place along Main Street on Saturday 27th June 2026.
Parking Restrictions (2200hrs Friday 26th June until Saturday 27th June 1500hrs)
∙ Crutchett’s Ramp.
∙ Junction of Fish Market Road with Irish Town and Cooperage Lane (ICC rear entrance).
∙ John Mackintosh Square - by the City Hall and current Taxi Rank.
∙ Irish Town - by the former Central Police Station and Cloister Ramp. ∙ Main Street (South) between Southport Gates and Convent Place.
∙ Kings Yard Lane & Convent Ramp.
Road Closures & Diversions (0900hrs to 1300hrs on Saturday 27th June)
∙ Access to Irish Town and Cooperage Lane will be closed to vehicular traffic, from the area of the roundabout by Chatham Counterguard / Ocean Heights.
Note: Vehicular access to Crutchett’s Ramp will be temporarily restricted during the parade and will resume upon the parade’s conclusion.
∙ Engineer Lane.
∙ Library Street.
∙ Cathedral Square
∙ Main Street (South) between Southport Gates and Cathedral Square, including Convent Ramp, King’s Yard Lane, Victualling Office Lane and Convent Place.
Note:
1. Traffic travelling south along Governor’s Street and Town Range will be diverted away from the city-centre in a southerly direction along Town
Range, Hargrave’s Parade, Prince Edward’s Road, Flat Bastion Road, and Gardiner’s Road onto Europa Road.
2. Vehicles travelling to the Upper Town will need to do so via Boyd Street or Europa Road and into Prince Edward’s Gate.
3. Vehicles travelling north-bound from the south district will be diverted at the Trafalgar interchange towards Ragged Staff and Queensway.
Public Service Vehicles
Taxi Services
∙ The Taxi Rank currently located at the northern side of John Mackintosh Square will be temporarily re-located to the southern side of this Square (by Matalan Ltd) between 0700hrs–1500hrs on Saturday 27th June only.
∙ The Taxi Rank currently located at Cathedral Square will be temporarily suspended between 0900hrs-1500hrs on Saturday 27th June 2026.
∙ The Taxi Rank currently located by the Trafalgar Cemetery will be temporarily relocated to the parking area outside the entrance to Trafalgar House (by Soho Ltd) between 0900hrs-1500hrs on Saturday 27th June 2026.
Public Bus Services
∙ Bus routes operating north-bound routes from the south district will be diverted at Trafalgar Interchange towards Ragged Staff and Queensway between 0900hrs and 1200hrs on Saturday 27th June. South-bound bus routes via Line Wall Road (Lover’s Lane) will remain unaffected.
