Gibraltar to Host WDF Darts Events This Weekend

World Darts Federation Silver and Bronze events will take place this weekend, organised by the Gibraltar Darts Association, featuring players from over 50 countries.
A statement from the Government follows below:
This coming weekend will see a series of events held under the auspices of the World Darts Federation (WDF) and organised by the Gibraltar Darts Association.
The Europa Sports Hall will host a Men’s and Ladies Silver WDF event and two Youth Bronze WDF events.
The Minister for Sport, the Hon Leslie Bruzon has praised the work of the Gibraltar Darts Association (GDA) adding that:
“I know first hand the work undertaken by Alex Nuñez, GDA President and his hardworking committee in securing the opportunity to host a WDF event in Gibraltar. I fully support their ambitions and whilst this weekend we are hosting events in the WDF Silver and Bronze categories, we aim to be in a position to bid for Gold standard events in the very near future.
At the last count140 players from 56 nations had registered. This is fantastic particularly given that by the time the event was confirmed the WDF calendar had already been set. We are already planning for the next one and as with Junior darts the idea is to make Gibraltar a venue that many set their sights on year-on-year. The best of luck to all players, but I make no apologies for sending special wishes to all Gibraltarian players in action this weekend”
The series of events start with the Pairs' event this coming Friday 3rd July.
