Nov 14 - Festival of Lights Packed with Performances
The Ministry of Culture has announced the programme of events for this year’s Festival of Lights on Friday 22nd November 2013. The events have been organised by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Gibraltar Electricity Authority (GEA) and shall be held at John Mackintosh Square.
The programme of events includes an arts and crafts market from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, performances by Tiffany Ferrary, Stylos Dance Company and Urban Dance and the Bishop Fitzgerald School choir. The Lights will be switched by Minister Steven Linares at 7pm, followed by an appearance by Father Christmas. The evening will be hosted by Rock Masters.
The event will also feature ‘My Wines’ at the Piazza from 5.30pm to 7.30pm with a selection of mulled wine, port and mince pies. A demarcated area for wheelchair users has also being organised by the Ministry of Culture. Persons wanting a space at the wheelchair area in front of the stage should contact the Ministry of Culture directly on telephone 20067236 before the 21st November 2013. Wheelchair users may be accompanied by one other person. Should the area not be taken up at 5.45pm, the area will be released for the general public.
