Nov 18 - Youngsters Raise Youth Club and GBC Open Day Funds

youth charity funds A small group of Youngsters, who regularly attend the Plater and Dolphins Youth Clubs held a cake stall and raffle recently to raise funds for the ongoing programme of events at their respective youth clubs.

This fund raising activity is part of the young peoples’ efforts to meet the costs of taking part in a residential course at the Europa Retreat Centre later this month. It also provides those taking part in this project with the opportunity of working together as a team.

The winning number for the raffle was 225 and it went to Kyreen Edwards of 12 Blackwatch House, Laguna Estate.

Other projects will be taking place later in the year such as the Cavalcade programme. Young people are encouraged and supported at all times to consider opportunities brought to their notice and to contribute with their own ideas and proposals.

The Laguna Youth Club has also decided to raise funds for the GBC Open Day. On Saturday 23rd November 2013 the club will open its door to the public from 9am to 3 pm during which time a six hour cycling event and fun day organised by club members to raise funds will take place.

There will be hot dogs, snacks and soft drinks on sale and music will be provided by the club’s youth worker, DJ Jona.

The Gibraltar Youth Service would like to thank the Royal Gibraltar Police North District Team for once again supporting the event.
