Dec 19 - Department Of Environment Staff Empowered As Wildlife Wardens
The recently published legislation ‘Nature Protection Act (Powers and Duties of Wildlife Wardens) Regulations 2013’ gives powers and duties to officers within the Department of the Environment to act as wildlife wardens under the provisions of the Nature Protection Act 2013.
The Litter Control Act 1990 makes provisions for Officers in the Department of the Environment to act as ‘authorised officers.’ Such authorisation includes the power to issue litter tickets.
Members of the public are informed that officers of the Department will be enforcing the provisions under the aforementioned Acts.
