Dec 23 - New Park For Catalan Bay
A new park in Catalan Bay was opened by Minister Steven Linares on Friday morning.
The park will replace an older facility which had a low wall separating the park from a sheer drop into the patio of a derelict building and which was therefore unsafe.
In order to comply with the latest health and safety regulations, the new park’s flooring is made of rubberised safety matting and all the park equipment is brand new. Other features include greater accessibility for prams and wheelchairs, new sun shades and benches and proximity to a car parking area. The park’s surrounding areas are also in the process of being beautified.
This project, which fulfills another manifesto commitment, has been designed in consultation with local residents.
