Feb 13 - Governor Visits RG TA and Band & Corps of Drums

governor Continuing with his familiarisation of British Forces Gibraltar, Lieutenant General Sir James Dutton, the Governor and Commander-in-Chief, recently paid visit to the RG TA and RG Band & Corps of Drums.

The RG Band & Corps of Drums gave the Governor a rendition of the Gibraltar National Anthem after which he thanked them for the personal performance and remarked on their continued support and dedication to both the RG and Gibraltar.

 

The Governor then presented three surprise promotions to Band members; CSgt Hope was promoted to WO2, Sgt Vallejo was promoted to CSgt and LCpl Moritz was promoted to Cpl.

The Governor then witnessed a number of TA training activities including a briefing by Platoon Commander CSgt Mark Hitchcock to his Section Commanders; CSgt Hitchcock used the 3D scale model of Gibraltar to issue orders of the Recce Patrol they will be doing at the top of the rock.

His Excellency also watched Sgt Gonzalez who was teaching members of his Platoon some Light Machine Gun weapons handling and CSgt Rawlinson who was delivering Signal Training. The signal training modules will qualify them to be a Class 1 Soldier, which will put them in a higher pay bracket.
