Feb 24 - Gibraltar Bank to Be Located Next To Ince’s Hall
The new Gibraltar International Bank will be located in at 310 Main Street, within a property named Ince’s House, adjacent to Ince’s Hall. The announcement was made by Financial Services Minister Albert Isola this morning.
Government has considered a range of different properties for this purpose and have consulted with members of its professional steering group before concluding on the selected option. The building that has been identified is Government-owned but will be leased to GIB on commercial, arm’s-length terms. It is a crucially important heritage site and all works and refurbishment will respect this fact. The building will be refurbished to the standards required and will also bring increased activity to this part of Main Street.
Commenting on the matter, Minister Isola noted, ‘I will keep on working with the executive team, the steering group and continue to engage and consult with the wider commercial and banking community who have welcomed and supported the establishment of such a bank in Gibraltar.’ He added, ‘I am privileged to be tasked with leading in the delivery of what different administrations have sought to achieve for many years and humbled by the support this important project has received.’
