taTen Territorial Army soldiers of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment received recent promotions from CO Lieutenant Colonel Ivor Lopez boosting them to the positions of Sergeant, Corporal and Lance Corporal.

Commenting on the promotions the CO insisted that the Regiment’s Reservists are incredibly dedicated and are all part of demanding civilian professions including, the civil service, fire-fighting and nursing.

Cpl Daniel Gonzalez was promoted to Sgt and will now take on the role of Platoon Sgt. Sgt Gonzalez works as a firefighter for the City Fire Brigade and has been in the TA for nine years.

Cpl Daniel Zammit was also promoted to Sgt and is now a Platoon Sgt. Sgt Zammit works for the Government of Gibraltar as a Human Resources Executive Officer and has served with the TA for nine years.

L/Cpl Jonathon Falero was promoted to Cpl and is now a Section Commander. Cpl Falero works for Lombard Odier as an Assistant Operations Manager and has served with the TA for seven years.

L/Cpl Christian Avellano was promoted to Cpl and will now take on the role of Section Commander. Cpl Avellano is a Fire Fighter with the City Fire Brigade and has served for 18 years as a TA soldier.

L/Cpl Ian Bramble was promoted to Cpl and is a qualified Skill at Arms Instructor, he works as a nurse in his civilian job and has served with the TA for 23 years.

L/Cpl Etienne Llufrio was promoted to Cpl in the role of Section Commander. Cpl Llufrio works as a Foreman in Gibdock and has served with the TA for 14 years.

Three Private soldiers were promoted to L/Cpl after successfully completing a Fighting Commanders Course:  L/Cpl Patrick Borge works for Gedime Motors as a Garage Assistant in his civilian life and has served with the TA for three years, L/Cpl Thomas Borge works for the GHA as an Admin Officer and has served for two years and L/Cpl Matt Coulthard is a Fire Fighter with the City Fire Brigade and has been a soldier in the TA for 2 years.

HM Prison Officer Pte Karim Pacheco was promoted to L/Cpl and takes on the role of Combat Clerk having successfully completed a Basic Infantry Clerks Course. L/Cpl Pacheco has served with the TA for three years.
