Mar 06 - Cross Frontier Group to Meet with Spanish and British MPs
The Cross Frontier Group this week held a further working meeting to discuss the preparation of a second report detailing the effects of issues at the Gibraltar La Linea frontier, to be given to various representatives of the European Commission who met with the group last month in Brussels.
The content of the report has been set out by various trade unionists and business organisations from both sides of the Frontier. The document will detail the number of workers affected, the days and times that queues occur at and how they have impacted both Gibraltar and La Linea’s economies. The group will send the report to a cross section of different spokespersons at the Commission, as well as incorporating it into the Dossier to be sent to various institutional and political contacts.
The group’s meeting also addressed the need to work on informing other institutions on the current border situation. In this respect, they are set to meet with contacts at the British, Spanish and Andalucian Parliaments.
