Mar 07 - 2014 Spring Festival Art Competition Launched

The 2014 Gibraltar Spring Festival Art Competition is open to Gibraltarians and residents of Gibraltar aged 16 and over as at 20th May 2014. A maximum of two paintings and two sculptures may be submitted by each artist. Works must be original and not previously entered competitively, except for entries submitted in the Ministry’s art competition for Young Artists. Entries will be exhibited at the Gustavo Bacarisas Gallery, from the 20th May to the 30th May 2014.

Prizes for the competition include a £1,000 John Mackintosh Trust Award for the Best John Mackintosh Hall Theme, a £750 Alwani Foundation Award for the Best Gibraltar Theme, a 3^rd Prize of £750, a 2^nd Prize of £1,000 and a 1^st Prize of £2,000.

Entry forms are available from the Fine Arts Gallery in Casemates Square, John Mackintosh Hall and the Ministry of Culture at 310 Main Street.

Entries must be handed in at the Gustavo Bacarisas Gallery, from Monday 5th May 2014 between 1pm and 6pm. The closing date for the receipt of entries is Friday 9^th May 2014.
