Apr 02 - Packed Spring Festival Line-Up Revealed
Culture Minister, Steven Linares yesterday evening officially launched the Gibraltar Spring Festival 2014, which boasts a host of enthralling events from Zarzuela, to theatre, to a music festival and finally, Calentita, marking the end of the two month festival.
During the announcement, the Minister also revealed the winning entry of the annual Spring Festival logo competition by Sarah Devincenzi who was awarded £300 for her efforts.
With 147 artists submitting entries and the high standards received, the panel decided to grant a further 10 highly commended awards of £20 vouchers each to Oliver Canessa, Michelle Stagnetto, Joelle Ferrar, Arianne Garro, Anna Grech, Juliette Ramagge, David Garcia, Matthew Mason, Emma Rocca and Janelle Ticknell-Smith.
Commenting on the Spring Festival the Minister added, ‘most of these events have been organised by or on behalf of the Ministry for Culture, whereas others were planned privately and have chosen to come under the Spring Festival umbrella. Regardless of the method of inception and production, they all share one common purpose; namely the desire to quench the thirst for Culture.’
