Apr 08 - Governor Visits Mount Alvernia on Familiarisation Visit
As part of his familiarisation programme, His Excellency the Governor, Sir James Dutton and Lady Dutton visited Mount Alvernia recently. They were accompanied by Samantha Sacramento, Minister for Equality, Social Services and the Elderly, together with Albert Bruzon, CEO of the Care Agency, Susan Vallejo, Elderly Residential Services Nursing Co-ordinator and members of the nursing management.
On their visit they were shown around the different floors where they met with residents and members of staff of different departments. The tour culminated with a display of crafts made by the residents with the assistance of the activities department. Finally HE was introduced to the Chairman of the Friends of Mount Alvernia and committee members.
‘It is wonderful that His Excellency and Lady Dutton have taken the time to visit Mount Alvernia. Many of the residents had been looking forward to his visit and were clearly delighted to meet him,’ said Minister Sacramento.
