Apr 14 - Unite Pushes for MoD Workers Pay Addition Claim
Christian Duo Acting Regional Officer of Unite the Union Gibraltar recently attended high level meetings in London including a meeting at the Union's head Office with the National Officer for the MoD & Government Departments.
The main purpose of the visit was to discuss a pay addition claim for locally entered civilians working for MoD Gibraltar, in order to encompass any prevailing local economic pressures. This adjustment is already recognised by MoD for UK Based Civilians posted to Gibraltar.
The claim follows a strong mandate from Unite members working in the MoD, who have been recently balloted on a number of issues namely Staff Reporting Procedures, Alignment to UK Terms & Conditions and the above claim.
Unite expressed how extremely pleased they were with the outcome of the meeting. Unite UK informed them that they are willing to support the claim and will be taking this up on the Gibraltar branch’s behalf at MoD Centre in White Hall London.
