Jul 17 - Commander British Forces Commendations Awarded
Commodore John Clink presented two Commander British Forces Commendations in a ceremony at the Naval Base today.
Chief Petty Officer Robinson and Security Officer Schlepphorst were both recognized for their outstanding contribution to British Forces Gibraltar.
Chief Petty Officer Robinson was described in his citation as ‘a highly motivated and capable individual who demonstrates initiative and the ability to work without supervision, he unswervingly delivers a consistently high quality service’.
It was an especially poignant day for Chief Petty Officer Robinson, who was on his final day in the office, he leaves Gibraltar and the Royal Navy following a very successful 23 year career.
Security Officer Schlepphorst joined the Defence Guard Service in January 2011 and he has been commended for ‘maintaining the highest of standards in providing security to the Defence Estate in Gibraltar, working tirelessly in all he does. He has had substantial praise throughout his time with the Guard Service, notably receiving considerable accolades for his efforts as part of The Convent security team at His Excellency the Governor’s residence.’
