Jul 18 - Second Power Outage of the Week Caused by Construction Works
The whole of Gibraltar suffered another power cut at around 9:45 this morning. Power was slowly being restored to different areas an hour later but many shops on Main Street simply shut their doors as they were unable to serve customers. Electronics retailer Galaxy and BHS Home are just two of the businesses that ceased trading entirely during the blackout.
According to GibElec, the outage was caused by construction works on North Mole Road. The company is still receiving calls from locals, who continue to have no power. This morning's outage is the third in eight days.
