Aug 14 - Unite Displeased with Government Handling of ETB Bullying Case

uniteFollowing wide spread reporting and speculation on an alleged bullying case within the ETB, Unite the Union has today made a public statement on the matter. They note their disappointment in the way the case is being dealt with, by the Government of Gibraltar.

A Unite statement claims that the length of time being taken by the investigating Officer and his board is not reasonable. The statement goes on to note, ‘the lack of feedback being given to both the alleged bully and the complainants is also unacceptable to our members.  We also have concerns over the line of questioning being used by the Investigating Officer and his Board, which has placed additional anxiety on our members.

We have requested feedback from the Chief Secretary on numerous occasions and this has not been forthcoming.  Therefore, we urge both the Chief Secretary and the Board to ensure that they follow their own procedures and deal with this issue swiftly to ensure that a fair outcome is reached.

Due to the seriousness of the allegations and the complexity of the case, Unite the Union will not make any further public comments until the investigation has concluded.’
