Aug 19 - Rough Weather Damages Floating Water Parks

costaSeveral of the inflatable waterparks installed at beaches have been damaged as a result of the bad weather conditions and severe easterly winds which hit the Rock over the weekend. Some of the units were deflated and stored away while others which came loose and ended up on the shore, have had to be secured as best as possible.

Staff are assessing the extent of the damage to the waterparks and preparing the necessary repairs. Minister for Tourism, Commercial Affairs, Public Transport and the Port Neil Costa said the Gibraltar Tourist Board was already dealing with the problem to ensure it was rectified as soon as possible.

Mr Costa commented, ‘we are confident that the matter will be rectified and the situation restored back to normal for the rest of the summer. Our teams are working hard to ensure the aqua stations are back in service as soon as possible.’
