Oct 03 - Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development Host Conference on Workplace Resolution

cipdThe Gibraltar branch of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development) will be hosting their first conference on Tuesday 11th November on the topic of ‘Working Towards Workplace Resolution’.

The conference, aimed at the local business community, will take place at the O'Callaghan Elliot Hotel and will focus on early conciliation for workplace disputes. The conference will be interactive and challenging for the delegates and include case studies from local businesses as well as workshops on tools and techniques to encourage early conciliation.

Peter Monaghan from ACAS - the UK's Arbitration and Conciliation Advisory Service - will be the main keynote speaker for the day and will be joined by Mike Emmott from the CIPD who will be discussing ‘Strategic Dispute Resolution’.

Speaking on behalf of the local CIPD branch, chairperson Lourdes Barea commented, ‘we are delighted to welcome two prestigious UK organisations to Gibraltar for our first conference and extend an invitation to all our local HR colleagues and business leaders to join us for a very exciting day. Most managers, unfortunately, have to deal with various conflicts in the day to day running of their businesses and this conference will aim to look at ways that we can resolve these conflicts early on, without having to involve third parties. The benefits of this will be applicable to everyone as we all want to avoid conflicts escalating.’

The conference agenda includes keynote speeches and breakout groups, providing delegates an opportunity to share their experiences and ideas on the topics covered.

This conference is provided free of charge by the Gibraltar HR Forum - the newest branch of the CIPD - but places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Lunch is included and registration for the event is via the website http://www.cipd.co.uk/branch/gibraltar/events. For further details
