Nov 12 - Varyl Begg Resurfacing Programme Starts Next Week
The Government is pleased to announce that as part of its ongoing refurbishment programme throughout Gibraltar, phase two of the works at Varyl Begg Estate is scheduled to commence next Monday 17th November. This will include road resurfacing, new paving and line painting to demarcate parking bays.
This project will be completed in various phases. Tenants who may be affected at each phase of the works with regard to the parking of vehicles will be able to make use of alternative parking facilities which have very kindly been provided by Morrisons Supermarkets PLC.
The Housing Works Agency will contact those tenants affected in the first instance, and will be providing them with the relevant parking permit. Parking facilities will operate on a first come first served basis, and tenants will be required to display the relevant parking permit when making use of this facility. Failure to comply with this request will result in the vehicle being clamped.
The Ministry for Housing has been working very closely with the Varyl Begg Tenants Association who are keen in seeing this phase of the works completed. This will finish the pending works to the estate. Any inconvenience caused throughout the duration of the works will be kept to a minimum by means of the generous support provided by Morrisons Supermarket in allowing the use of their parking area.
