Feb 03 - Performing Issues ‘Be True, Be You’

The Youth Centre is bringing an old favourite back!

Performing Issues is a project previously delivered in conjunction with Santos Productions back in 2008. It is a project open to any young person aged between 13 and 18 looking to develop on their identity and self-belief through artistic forms.

The project aims to provide young people with the opportunity to develop better perspective of themselves and others, whilst gaining knowledge and skills on positive and creative ways of expression.

Workshops will explore young people’s self-esteem and identity, as well as reflect on potentially negative expression amongst young people such as alcohol/drug misuse and self-harm. Participants will then create an individual or small group performing art piece, such as a poem, music, dance or act about their own or another’s experiences, culminating in a production for their friends and families.

Performing Issues; ‘Be True, Be You’ commences on Wednesday 4th March and will run every Wednesday 5:30pm – 8:30pm at the Youth Centre on Line Wall Road.
