Feb 03 - World Book Day Next Month
The public are once again invited to celebrate “World Book Day” at the John Mackintosh Hall on Thursday 5th March 2015 as from 10am.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland, so the theme will be surrounding this popular book.
The Book Crossing and Book Fair will open its doors at 10am. You may pick up a book free of charge or take part in the Book Crossing.
Local authors will be promoting, signing and selling their books as from 12 noon.
Application forms for authors to set up a stand are available from the John Mackintosh Hall. Authors are advised to apply as soon as possible, as spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
The special Story Time and Fun Games for children aged between 4 and 8 will take place as from 4pm. Children are encouraged to come dressed in their favourite book character costume.
The Library Cafeteria will be providing their usual food and beverages throughout the day, and will also offer a special afternoon tea.
