Feb 12 - Flooding Causes Closure of St. Joseph's School
Following heavy rainfall last night St. Joseph’s First & Second Schools have experienced substantial flooding. A Government statement thanked staff for their professionalism this morning, ‘ensuring that all the children remained safe until arrangements had been made to send them home’ following the advice of the Fire Brigade.
The statement further insisted that the flooding caused no major damage and is safe for children and teachers. However the building will remain closed until Monday due to ongoing works over the weekend.
The Technical Services Department thanked parents ‘for their understanding and for acting calmly, coming to collect their children, or making alternative arrangements to get them safely home.’
