Feb 18 – Private Preece Joins The Regiment

Private Callum Preece (18) is the latest Royal Gibraltar Regiment recruit to pass out at the Infantry Training Centre (ITC) in Catterick.

Having completed his 26 week Combat Infantryman Course, Private Preece will now undergo driver training before returning to Gibraltar.

All infantry soldiers in the British Army must complete the course which teaches the soldier a number of skills from war-fighting tactics through to ceremonial drill. It is designed to ensure that the newly qualified solider is fully prepared to join their chosen unit and is ready for operational deployment.

Private Preece said: “I joined the Royal Gibraltar Regiment because I was looking for a challenging career, I’ve really enjoyed the training and learnt so much, but I’m now looking forward to returning to the Regiment.”
