Feb 24 - Public Invited to Submit Mayor's Award Recommendations
The scope for the Mayor’s Award Scheme has been widened in order to recognise individuals or groups who have served Gibraltar in exceptional or voluntary service, over a prolonged period of time. Formerly the Scheme only recognised acts of bravery or those who have helped save a life.
Current Mayor, His Worship Adolfo Canepa is keen to encourage public participation in the Awards Scheme and is inviting the public to submit recommendations.
The Committee for the Award Scheme will take into consideration the provisions of the Gibraltar Medallion of Distinction and any recommendation concerning outstanding gallantry or achievement may be referred to the relevant body for their consideration.
The public is able to submit recommendations, in writing, to: The Secretary, Mayor’s Awards Committee, Ministry of Culture, City Hall, John Mackintosh Square, Gibraltar.
