Jul 14 - Miss Gibraltar Cheque Presentation And Website Launch

The new, revamped Miss Gibraltar website was launched at the same time as the winners from this year’s pageant were given their prize money by Minister for Culture Steven Linares, today.

The Minister presented a £4,500 cheque to Miss Gibraltar 2015 Hannah Bado. Cheques were also presented to 1st Princesses, Bianca Pisharello, for £1,500 and 2nd Princess, Natalia Nunez, for £1,000.

Mr Linares, said: “The website is now a reality. It will make it easier for Gibraltar citizens to follow the Miss Gibraltar Pageant and the journey of our successful winners.

“The website is in line with Government’s E-policy and I am certain it shall be a great communication tool for all.

“I take this opportunity to wish Miss Gibraltar and her two Princesses all the very best in their year ahead.

“The Gibraltar Government has thought it fit that the three girls should be representing not what is Miss Gibraltar, but Gibraltar in general in three different pageants.  That never used to happen, but now we are really happy that we have three beauties who are able to go into three different pageants representing our country.”

Gibraltar Cultural Services, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, have launched a revamped website for the Miss Gibraltar Office (www.missgibraltar.gi) keeping in line with the Government’s manifesto commitment to provide a friendly E-Government service.

The website, put together by Piranha Designs, will support as much interaction as possible between the community and the department and will also keep in line with technological advancements.

The website includes all aspects of Miss Gibraltar’s duties and functions that are run by Gibraltar Cultural Services for Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar. Seamus Byrne, Events Director for Gibraltar Cultural Services explained that the website includes a Home Page with user friendly icons, information and gallery for the reigning Miss Gibraltar and information and gallery for the Miss World Pageant. Additionally, the website includes a past winners page and a special ‘did you know’ page with anecdotes on the history of the pageant.

The Miss Gibraltar Office invites the general public to visit the Miss Gibraltar webpage on: www.missgibraltar.gi
