Oct 26 - Minister Commends National Futsal Selection “Valiant Efforts”
Following what has been a tough tournament against extremely seasoned and strong Futsal nations the Minister for Sport, Steven Linares, has highlighted the tremendous effort made by National Futsal selection in their participation in the FIFA Futsal World Cup Qualifiers preliminary round held in Moldova.
Minister Linares said: “The team has worked extremely hard in the build up to the tournament and although the competition has been tough, the effort has been unwavering irrespective of the results, even pushing Andorra all the way in their final match. Great credit needs to be given not only to the players but also to the coaches and technical staff.
“Exposure to such level of competition can only be beneficial for future participation and the team will have benefitted massively from the experience. It is now the turn of the Under 17’s who are in Liechtenstein for the UEFA Championship Qualifiers. Competition will be tough but I know our boys will be prepared and will not shy away from the challenge.”
