Jun 06 - GFA’s Head Of Youth Football Steps Down

The Gibraltar FA’s Head of Youth Football, Mr Ivan Olivera, has announced his decision to step down with immediate effect, following on from the end of the Youth Football season this weekend.

Ivan Olivera has been the Gibraltar FA’s Head of Youth Football since 2013 and the GFA says it would like to place on record its “sincere gratitude for all the hard work, effort and hours he has devoted to Youth Football in Gibraltar for the last three years.”

Mr Olivera said:

“After many years working within the GFA Youth setup I have taken the decision to call it a day due to personal reasons. I sincerely hope that the GFA and all its members work towards building a better future for all players and emphasise on their development to enjoy the beautiful game. Last but not least I would like to thank everyone who has worked with me all these years and wish the GFA all the best in the future.”

Dennis Beiso, General Secretary of the GFA also thanked Mr Olivera for his dedication to Youth Football during his time with the association:

“I would like to thank Ivan Olivera for all the hard work he has put in as Head of Youth Football in Gibraltar and for his lifelong commitment to the sport. He leaves us with our best wishes. Knowing Ivan as I do, he will remain involved in the sport in some capacity and will no doubt be able to pass on his knowledge and expertise to his successors.”

The GFA will now begin the process of appointing a new Head of Youth Football and further announcements will be made in due course.
