Feb 24 - Higginbotham On Football Retirement and Upcoming GFA Friendlies
During a visit to Gibraltar last week, ahead of yesterday’s UEFA Qualifiers draw and this weekend’s GFA friendly against the Faroe Islands, former Chester footballer Danny Higginbotham spoke to YGTV about his decision to retire from football, but still continue to play the first set of the GFA’s official UEFA grade matches.
Danny commented that he was looking forward to the upcoming matches and then perhaps moving onto ‘the coaching side’, depending on what the team wants from him. Speaking on his decision to play for the GFA, despite his retirement from football, Danny said that it was promise he’d made ‘to stay for the three games’. He added that he was done with football and was looking forward to working on other things that have taken his interest.
