Feb 24 - Gibraltar 500-1 To Win Qualifier Group – Bookies Start Taking Bets On UEFA’s Newest Member
After yesterday’s historic draw in Nice which placed the Gibraltar national football squad in the same qualifier group as European giants Germany, bookmakers have started taking bets on UEFA’s newest member.
The oddschecker.com website lists the odds offered by major UK betting companies (many of which, incidentally, are based in Gibraltar) for each of the teams in Gibraltar’s group (Group D). While it won’t come as a surprise that Germany and Poland are the firm favourites to qualify for the Euro 2016 championships, the odds of Gibraltar winning the group vary greatly from bet365’s 10000-1 to PaddyPower’s optimistic 500-1.
