During a close match against Malta, played in Gibraltar’s current home stadium in Faro yesterday evening, the Gibraltar National Team took home their first victory, with Kyle Casciaro scoring the only goal of the match in the 66^th minute.

The win follows recent draws against Estonia and Slovakia and defeats against the Faroe Islands and Estonia. The win has been reported on internationally by such media outlets at the BBC and UEFA itself.

The Gibraltar Government congratulated the GFA in its win, noting that it was a ‘very creditable result which was recognised by an article on the BBC Sports website and it comes so soon after the 0 – 0 draw with Estonia’.
