Aug 04 - Drama Session Features As Part Of GSLA Summer Programme

In an effort to promote self-confidence and teambuilding skills the GSLA Summer Sports & Leisure Programme, sponsored by NatWest, includes a half-hour drama session after the day’s main events. Led by Amee Freyone today’s drama section was aimed at the Sport’s Train’s 9 to 11 year old age group.

The session took place during the day’s cool down timeslot, and saw the children engaged in a number of group activities that encouraged use of full body movement, actions and voice in a dramatic fashion. The group activities were incredibly successful at giving the children self-confidence in using their whole bodies when interacting dramatically. The drama session finished with an introduction to creative storytelling, where the children were encouraged to tell parts of a story in front of each other with accompanying dramatic actions.

The drama sessions led by Amee Freyone will continue throughout the GSLA Summer Sports & Leisure Programme, with the age group participating in the session alternating each day.
