Nov 10 - Locals in Intense Downhill Biking Competition
This past weekend saw the 'IV DH Campo de Gibraltar' downhill mountain bike competition take place on Sierra Carbonera with the Rock of Gibraltar and the Straits as its backdrop. It drew a large turn out from across Andalucia including participants from Gibraltar.
This year has been great to see new young local talent from The Rock take part. Ryan Gabay 15, in his first competitive race is already displaying huge potential in this discipline finishing a respectable 5th in his category.
Junior racer and established rider Etienne Victor came back from a crash in his first run making up over 10 seconds in the final but lost out on podium by just under a second! Chris Grech who showed a strong performance Saturday didn't disappoint come the finals on Sunday taking 2nd Place in Master 30 for his second consecutive year.
