Jun 16 - Spark Energy Statement On Saturday’s Power Cut
On Saturday night at 9 pm Spark Energy North Mole Power Plant tripped due to a short circuit failure causing a major power cut, the reason of which is unknown and is being investigated separately by Spark Energy Limited and Gibraltar Electricity Authority.
In order to avoid a repetition of this failure the North Mole Spark Plant has been isolated until such a time that the nature of the fault is identified, isolated and repaired.
As part of the on-going investigations Spark Energy says it will be bringing in a specialist team to try to resolve as quickly as possible.
Spark Energy Limited says it would like to apologise to Gibraltar for the power outage.
